I just ask one thing, take a moment on July 4th, amidst all the fun and think about your greatest gift and this great country you live in. It makes me happy to see all the proud Americans with their American Flags flying for the 4th of July weekend. Lets fly them year round.
Congress made sure that all states would have access to an authenticated copy of the Declaration of Independence by ordering a special printing of multiple copies on January 18, 1777. July 4th celebrations honoring Independence Day began in 1776 and have been celebrated in a similar fashion throughout the states year after year.
The first celebrations occurred shortly after the declaration, in various locales along the Eastern Seaboard. Much of the tradition inherent in the way we celebrate today was evident almost from the beginning. Sound, spectacle, and sentiment played an important role in that tradition. (as James R. Heintze at the American University, in Washington, D.C. reported.)
There are many ways to celebrate the 4th of July. In New York, they celebrated by reading the “Declaration of Independence at the head of each brigade of the continental army (posted at and near New York.) It was received with loud cheers.
In Philadelphia, the Declaration of Independence was publicly read on July 8.
In Williamsburg, a celebration occurred on 25 July. Included in the demonstration of joy were readings of the Declaration of Independence “at the Capitol, the Courthouse, and the Palace, all amidst the acclamations of the people,” a military parade, and the firing of cannon and musketry were also part of the festivities.
In Trenton, NJ they proclaimed independence with a gathering of the militia and citizens: “The declaration, and other proceedings, were received with loud acclamations”
I hope your celebration will be a grand one. Remember your freedoms, think about your greatest gifts and remember to pass a gift on to another. Health care savings that never expire and have no cost at all. Free savings for life. The gift that keeps on giving at http://www.fldiscounts.provisionrx.com Share the savings.
